3. Certification & Compliance

Our plants operate under internationally recognized food-safety schemes including BRC and HACCP. For the Kenyan market we support:

• PVoC / Certificate of Conformity (CoC) — issued before shipment by a KEBS-appointed Pre-Export Verification of Conformity agent in China. Frozen chicken is an animal product and must use Route A (per-consignment testing and physical inspection); it is not eligible for the simplified Route B.
• DVS import permit — the Kenyan importer must obtain an import permit from the Directorate of Veterinary Services, with the origin country’s veterinary authority approving the processing plant and issuing a health certificate/no-objection.
• Import Standardization Mark (ISM) — stick-on label affixed to retail containers.
• Halal: Halal certification is advisable for the coastal (Mombasa) and north-eastern Muslim consumer segments and is available via the Kenya Bureau of Halal Certification (KBHC).
